Our student-centered approach is validating, positive, humorous, helpful, friendly and encouraging. By integrating educational technology and strong interpersonal communication skills, we cultivate healthy, long-term student-teacher relationships while continuously enriching the piano learning experience with fresh, engaging material each week. Practice is assigned with clear instructions aligned to each week’s focus goal and then thoroughly reviewed during the following lesson. For parents, we will always keep you up-to-date on your child’s progress and provide additional practice support as needed. We are always accessible through text or phone call should you have any questions about lessons.

Additionally, we organize semi-annual piano recitals—one at Christmas and one towards the end of Spring—providing ample preparation time to ensure that students are not only performance-ready, but also excited.

Our dedication to transparency means providing regular updates on each student’s progress, challenges, and achievements, ensuring parents are always fully aware of their child’s progress with encouragement and support.

No registration fees, no upfront costs. Any necessary materials, such as lesson books or theory, will be recommended after the first lesson. Recitals are free.

Part of our teaching philosophy is that we believe teaching children is quite similar to caring for little plants. Every plant is unique and they will all have different needs. Some plants require more sunlight, while others will thrive in the shade. Some must have frequent watering to stay healthy, while others will do extremely better in hot, dry heat. Similarly, each child has their own unique temperament, needs and learning styles. Some children may need reinforced encouragement and support, while others will thrive with more independently with self-directed learning.

At Royale Piano, we are highly sensitive and aware when learning is taking place. We recognize that personal growth in every student, child or adult, takes place at varying speeds. We are dedicated to crafting personalized lesson plans that aligns with every student's preferences, learning pace, and always ensure that they receive the proper guidance and support.

We meticulously assess each student's progress to adapt our teaching approach, nurturing them through every stage and learning curve of their musical development. By carefully identifying and measuring where a student is at, we can modify our teaching approach to help navigate them better through each step of the learning process.

ACTIVE, FOCUSED LISTENING

Fundamentally, above all else, this listening value of ours at Royale Piano is not only our top priority, but also our greatest expertise. Accurately painting a good sonic sound picture requires the strength of a well-trained ear that expertly listens. A skilled musician must also develop the audiation skills needed that can spatially isolate sounds, recognize patterns of long and short spaces of time, discern the melodic and harmonic intervals of pitches and phrasing, create functional and creative harmonization by ear (by heart) and so much more. This skill overall requires honoring a particular use of ordered silence, sound, action and motion.
