Inspired by Melody – A Legacy of Exploration and Connection
My sister, Melody Davis, was an avid traveler whose passion for cultural exchange and humanitarian work took her across the world–from missionary trips in Russia and Ukraine, to orphanages in Mexico and Brazil, to her studies in Liverpool, England, where she tragically passed away at age 20 in 2010.
Melody believed that to truly understand life, one must step beyond familiar borders and connect with people through shared experiences, stories and art. Her adventures, the way she spoke of music as a bridge between cultures, left an everlasting imprint on me.
In honoring her memory, I’ve embraced a vision to bring my own gift–music education–to children around the world. Just as Melody saw the world as a book meant to be explored, I believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover their voice, creativity and confidence through music, no matter where they are.
With over 12 years of experience as a music educator, I’ve witnessed firsthand how music transforms lives.
Every child I teach isn’t just learning notes–they’re discovering discipline, self-expression, emotional resilience and joy.
Everytime I see a child, I see the future. Everytime I work with a child, I work with future innovators, leaders, artists and healers. My mission is to enrich that future by offering the universal gift of music, particularly to those who might not otherwise have access to it.
Music transcends language, politics and circumstances. Whether in a classroom in Portland or a community center abroad, creating a space where children can explore music is creating a space for hope, growth and connection.
If you are part of an organization serving children in underserved communities–or if you would like to support this mission–please reach out! Together, we can bring the power of music to the next generation across borders and beyond barriers.
